How can the use of Google Ads improve your business!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today we will be discussing Google ads and all of the tools that come with it. We will also go over how beneficial it is for creating awareness and revenue towards your business.

Grow your business with Google Ads

First let’s define what Google Ads are, it is a digital advertising solution that helps you to reach your specific audience and transform them into valuable customers. Google Ads are very beneficial. They can help your organization in many ways. Such as driving sales, building awareness, promoting your app, and increasing website visits, etc.

Many different Google Ads campaign types can help your business grow and attract many new and potential customers. Search ads is an example, these are ads you see when you search something on Google.  Video ads are another example, this is when companies use websites such as YouTube to display their visual ads. You can also upload your ads when someone is using a mobile app or when they use Google shopping.

Explore the value of Google Search

Google search is the most commonly used tool to gather information. They receive millions of amounts of data each day. Every day, about 3.5 billion searches are made using Google search.

It is useful to create keywords that are similar to your products. Then when an individual is searching for your specific product, they can type a similar keyword or phrase and then find your ad. This will allow you to receive awareness from a wider range of people. Because individuals don’t have to type in your specific product to get to know about it.

Understand the Google Ads auction

Google Ads uses an auction system to decide and rank which ad is displayed to the audience. This auction system also helps to determine how much it will cost for each time a person clicks on your ad. The quality of the ads are also being considered when ads are being placed, not just how much you are willing to pay. This is because Google wants to only put up information that is relevant to the specific search.

There are three factors that take into place when evaluating the quality of the ad. First, is expected click-through-rate. This is determined by the feedback Google gets when users click on the ads. The second factor is the Ad landing page experience. This is evaluated by the quality of the landing page; it should have appropriate and original content that helps the user complete their task. The third and final factor is Ad relevance. This is measured by how well an ad matches what the user is searching for.

Deliver the right message with text ads

Text ads are ads that are just simply made out of text. A text ad consists of a headline, a URL and a description of the specific company.  An example of a text ad is shown below. It is important that your text ad is informative relevant and engaging. This is because the text ad is the first thing your potential customers will see. So you want to attract the customer, and also leave enough information to let them know what your business is about.

Make ads relevant with search ad extensions

Ad extensions are very beneficial when it comes to making your ad and business more productive and successful. When using an ad extension, it will likely make the user take action much quicker. By using ad extensions, you will increase the engagement of that specific ad. This is because it will allow the user to see a sneak peek of what you can do on the website. For example, it will allow you to see if you can phone or message them directly. Another important benefit of ad extension is that it will improve the overall ad quality, in which it will then improve your Ad rank. So, in the end, it will help you be on the top of the search engine.

Increase efficiency with automated bidding

Biding influences how visible your ads are, and the amount of interaction you get in each unique moment by the users. If you don’t bid efficiently, you could miss many potential consumers.

Some benefits of automated bidding include, Automated bidding uses machine learning to algorithmically help you set the appropriate bid for each time you auction. Another benefit is that it is time-saving, because of the algorithms, the system calculates how much you should bid much quicker.

Reach valued customers with search audiences

Google’s search audience solutions are a set of strategies and products that help you reach high-value customers in the moments when they’re ready to buy the products that you offer. These search audience solutions are able to help you reach specific groups of customers, but also it will allow you to meet your marketing goals.

For example, it will create awareness towards your company. This is because it can provide you a detailed demographic, the criteria include marital status, education, parenting stage, and homeownership.  Another goal is to be able to increase purchases and loyalty with your existing customers. This is because it can find new customers while excluding your old ones. This allows the company to receive customers from different places not just from their own demographic.

Boost performance with optimisation score

Optimisation score is a great tool to use, it is found on your Google Ad recommendations page. It estimates how well your search campaigns are set to perform. The score runs from 0% to 100%. The higher your score, the better your campaign is running.

Some benefits of the optimisation score includes that it is instant. This means you get real-time estimates of how your accounts and campaigns are performing.  Another benefit is that it is scalable. This means that you will be able to apply recommendations across multiple layers of your advertising strategy. So, you can use the information to improve many different campaigns.

Increase conversions with Performance Planner

The Google Ads performance planner is a forecasting tool that uses machine learning to reveal the possibilities for your Google Ads campaigns. With this tool, an organization can explore their forecasts for the upcoming monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for their current campaigns, while also helping to improve your return on investment (ROI).

The performance planner is very useful to use every month. Because it lets you optimize your budgets and bids so that you can drive more traffic, for the same amount of money you pay each time.

Conclusion

In conclusion, today we want over the importance of the Google Ads and how it can improve your business tremendously. In the end, I was able to complete an assessment of the course, even though I wasn’t able to get higher than an 80 to pass. I will be able to take the assessment another time. But I still recommend taking the course because you will receive a huge amount of data, on how to create a perfect ad. By using all the tools discussed today.

How to receive ROI by using social media!

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog. Today we will be discussing Social Media Marketing, and its return on investment (ROI). Throughout this blog we will be examining Social Media KPIs and Tools for Measurement, Decoding Social Media Analytics, Driving Measurable ROI on Each Channel, Bonus Strategies for Maximizing ROI and finally ending with a conclusion.

Social Media KPIs and Tools for Measurement

Using social media for any major company is essential. I say this because if a company’s competitors are on social media, then so should you (Gil, 2019). We know that all social media platforms are free, but to create effective ROI, you will need to take time to create a productive strategy (Gil, 2019). This includes posing at the right time and on the right date.

It is also very important to choose the right social media platforms that preform your specific needs. For example, LinkedIn is used to connect with other B2B brands and executives, while platforms such as Twitter and Instagram help B2C companies to identify and connect with consumers (Gil, 2019).

To create an effective social media strategy, you will need to go over these four main objectives which are content, community, consistency, and conversion (Gil, 2019). The first objective is content, this is what you display on your platform, such as photos, videos, music (Gil, 2019). The second objective is community, this is about the individuals that consume your content on a regular basis (Gil, 2019). Community is key because they are the people who advocate and creates awareness for your brand and products, they are how your company grows (Gil, 2019). After you create your content and develop a community, you will need to keep your followers engaged and always be consistent. Consistency is about how often your post online, and how many times people react to your posts (Gil, 2019). The final objective is conversation, this is users take actions online such as liking, commenting and sharing your posts (Gil, 2019).  In the end, you can see how each objective works closely together, and why you can not leave one without the other.

Key performance indicators (KPI) help us to know how our social media platforms are doing and if they provide any insight or benefits towards your company. Some KPI’s include impressions, which are the times your content appeared in the news feed of the platform (Gil, 2019). Another KPI is engagement, which is how many times people interacted with your different types of content (Gil, 2019). The final two KPI’s are the number of views you get and the number of people who clicked on your content or website (Gil, 2019).

Decoding Social Media Analytics: What Does It Mean?

There are many social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram who use analytics that can improve your business. Facebook uses Facebook Insights, this is where it gathers useful information about your company’s website, such as views, likes, engagement and overall brand awareness (Gil, 2019). With the help of Facebook’s Insights, you can use Facebook to create and distribute your own ads. Facebook uses analytics and the Insight tool to make sure your post at the right time and place to maximize your return on investment (Gil, 2019).

Instagram also has an Insights function on the app that provides analytics and useful information. Comments, direct messages and resharing are more valuable than likes (Gil, 2019). This is because it shows how your audience really feels and can provide an outside perspective of your company. Instagram takes this to heart and shows all of these very helpful insights.

Driving Measurable ROI on Each Channel

Using LinkedIn is very helpful because it will allow you to create a professional brand and let you connect with their over 500 million members (Gil, 2019). You connect and search professional by location, job title, company, and industry (Gil, 2019). LinkedIn also uses a type of analytics that allows you to see which professional or potential client saw your page or post and who interacted with it (Gil, 2019). A useful tip for potential clients is to not sell right away, rather invite the person to get to know them and then create a working relationship that benefits both parties (Gil, 2019).

Using Twitter analytics is very helpful for every organization or small business. This is because its analytics provides insights about current and upcoming events (Gil, 2019). Such as the Coronavirus, for example, a company can see the engagement about this very important and concerning issue we face today (Gil, 2019). Twitter also looks at your personal tweets and sees how they performed and how much engagement it achieved (Gil, 2019). This will allow you to know which type of tweets works best with your audience and then try to improve on your strategy.

Bonus Strategies for Maximizing ROI

Twitter has a function called the Twitter Card which helps you stand out and be different and effective. A Twitter card is a card that uses your websites URL and then applies a picture to drive traffic (Gil, 2019). This is a useful tool because when you apply a vibrant and eye-catching photo to your tweet, more people will likely engage and react to your tweet. You can also type in an interactive call to action below the card to drive in traffic for your website, for example (Gil, 2019). An example of a Twitter card is shown below.

Using storytelling on Instagram is also very useful to many businesses, this is because it is a new form of expression and allows organizations to be viewed as real and relatable to the public (Gil, 2019). Since Instagram stories are only up for 24 hours, you will need to keep your stories short and have a call to action at the end (Gil, 2019). Your story should also have a beginning, middle, and end (Gil, 2019). This will help you keep your audience engaged and always coming back for more because they want to know what will happen next.

Conclusion

Today we went over the importance of social media and having an excellent strategy to obtain a great return on investment (ROI). Throughout this blog we discussed Social Media KPIs and Tools for Measurement, Decoding Social Media Analytics, Driving Measurable ROI on Each Channel, Bonus Strategies for Maximizing ROI.

An applied example of a company that is using social media platforms to get the best possible result is Staples. In the below pictures you can see that they are relating the vibrant and eye-catching pictures to current events. Such as Halloween. This allows for their audience to always be engaged in a fun and unique way. This way they ensure that their target audience always comes back to see what they offer. So, in the end, they engage with their customers and also raise awareness about their new products.

How Social Media CRM can help your Business!

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog. Today we will be discussing what is Social Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Throughout this blog, we will be discussing, getting started, developing your strategy, your toolkit, and finally ending with a conclusion.

Getting Started

Firstly, let’s define social CRM, “is a strategy supported by social media, online tools, and technology, in order to enable organizations to better engage with their customers” (Adams, 2018). Social CRM tackles all the normal tasks of customer relationship, but mainly using social platforms. For example, it can explain and discuss issues online using Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

We all know tracking down each customer and listening to their concerns is very difficult, but social CRM helps reduce the difficulty. Some examples of the benefits that social CRM brings to the table is that it provides more meaningful and transparent engagement with their customer (Adams, 2018). Social CRM also creates brand advocates because of the efficient engagement with the public (Adams, 2018). Another advantage is the collection of important data, which, therefore, helps with online discussions with the target market (Adams, 2018).

Develop Your Strategy

When you have a strong social CRM, you will also receive a strong brand for your company. A brand is a “set of marketing and communication methods that help distinguish a company from competitors and hopefully create a lasting impression in the minds of their customers” (Adams, 2018).

Having a brand is good but keeping it is the hard part, two factors help you keep your organization’s brand alive, humanization and personalization (Adams, 2018). Humanization means to have an easy to connect personality with the customers (Adams, 2018). While personalization means to allow your audience to choose and shape their own experience with the brand (Adams, 2018). These to factors allow the organization to have a sense that their customers will be able to take freely without judgment. It will also allow them to share their personal stories with the public, this will allow them to feel that they are part of the community.

While having a brand is essential, so is creating a perfect campaign. Social CRM has help business to create great and productive campaign. This is done by using focused targeting. Focused targeting means to address the customers by using highly targeted and individualized messages that are appealing to the public (Adams, 2018). Some tools are needed to create an efficient campaign using focused targeting. A tool used is segmentation, this means to group customers and prospects into segment (Adams, 2018). This will help break down the information more, to be able to create a meaningful message. After segmentation, we use the second tool which is personalized content, this means to tailor the content directly to the organization’s customers.

Manage Social CRM

Using influencers are very helpful when coming to creating an efficient social CRM. Influencers are individuals that use social media platforms to tell their opinions and stories. Organizations use influencers to market their brand and their products. To identify the correct influencer for your business, you will need to take into account these three aspects. First, you need to know how relevant this influencer is to your organization and your brand, secondly, you will need to identify how many people they can identify by using their platform (Adams, 2018). Lastly, you will need to know how engaged they are to their network, more specifically their audience and subscribers (Adams, 2018).

To have a productive social CRM, you need to have an efficient customer service. Customer service is defined by Megan Adams, 2019 as “the interaction between a customer and the company, usually through traditional channels like phone or email, and typically the customer will have an issue or some sort of request that needs resolving.” Customer service is about retaining your target audience and to not lose them to your competitors (Adams, 2018). When you take care of your customers you will benefit greatly, this is because they will keep coming back to the place that always helps them and resolves their issues.

Your Toolkit

Using analytics is very important for the success of a social CRM. Some examples of analytics that will help you succeed include focusing on customer feedback. This means to focus on what the customers are saying to you, and what they are saying about you (Adams, 2018). This helps identify how your organization is perceived, and if there are any issues, and how to solve those issues. Another example includes essential analytics. Essential analytics is about tracking engagement levels, this means to identify how engaged your target market is to your products and services (Adams, 2018). Essential analytics is also about implementing a customer satisfaction score, this is when a customer grades an organization’s service (Adams, 2018). For example, you may saw that grocery stores such as Safeway use this system, they would write on the end of your receipt to go online and grade our service. There is also a reward to incentivize the customers. In the end, you can see how important analytics are to any organization, and how it goes hand and hand with social CRM.

Conclusion

In conclusion, today we learned the importance of social CRM and how beneficial it is to every organization. Throughout this blog we discussed getting started, developing your strategy, and your toolkit. An example of how Mercedes-Benz uses social CRM is shown below. In the picture, you can see that Mercedes-Benz use Facebook to send their message and to raise awareness for their products. By doing this Mercedes-Benz can identify what their target audience is and how they are reacting to their products. In the comments section, Mercedes-Benz can also address any concerns they may have. In the second picture, you will see that Mercedes-Benz has a specific page called community, this is where all the fans and customers of Mercedes share their opinions and concerns. The third picture shows an example of how Mercedes-Benz uses the community page to help out their customers. They do not only respond once but twice. In the end, you can see how Mercedes is an example of how many organizations use social CRM to their advantage.

Learning to use LinkedIn!

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog. Today we are going to discuss about learning LinkedIn for students. We are going to talk about creating a LinkedIn profile, building your network, using LinkedIn day-to-day, job search and company research, managing your LinkedIn account, and a conclusion.

Create a LinkedIn Profile

We all know how important LinkedIn is, it is a traditional resume with more in-depth detail. Where many individuals can see what you do and what you accomplished. Therefore, it is important to always update your profile and to make it the best it could be. Here are some tips or suggestions that will help you create an amazing profile.

The first thing to do is to upload a picture of yourself. This will allow other individuals, and even Google to identify and know who you are faster (Schinkten, 2018).  Adding a background picture is also very useful to include. Next step is to personalize your headline, create one that describes what is your education and what you are passionate about (Schinkten, 2018). After inserting a headline, the creation of a summary will help people to know you a bit better, here you can go in more detail (Schinkten, 2018).

Another important tip is to include a section about your education, here you can talk about your university and high school education (Schinkten, 2018). Also, you can publish a section on LinkedIn that talks about all your skill and endorsements (Schinkten, 2018). By doing this, you will be helping organizations to know if you have the same requirements they are looking for, which will lead to a future job. As you can see when you always update your LinkedIn profile, you will be helping yourself and opening yourself to new opportunities at the same time.

Build Your Network

Networking is a great way to get to know new people, it also helps you to find new and exciting job opportunities. When networking with professional on LinkedIn it will with many benefits. Such as insights and advice, future collaborations, resources and job opportunities (Schinkten, 2018).

Now you know the benefits of networking and what it brings to the table. After this knowledge you should practice networking, you can apply this by searching for individuals on LinkedIn. You can message them and discuss what you have in common and even see if they can help you get a job you desire. A useful way to network is to use the alumni tool on LinkedIn. This is a tool in which you can search for the university you went to in the past, and afterwards network with past students and get to communicate with them (Schinkten, 2018). For me personally, when I finish my marketing degree at NAIT I will use this tool to communicate with other alumni. I will want to get to know how they got their current jobs and what they did to succeed.

Using LinkedIn Day-to-Day

As we know that updating your LinkedIn profile is great, but also using LinkedIn is even better. Firstly, use and explore your feed, this is where you will see all your personalized articles and videos. LinkedIn uses a specific algorithm that brings to your certain topics and articles that will be useful to read, so this just shows how important it is to go over your feed (Schinkten, 2018). Also, by following certain companies such as Apple will alter your feed, this will bring you articles and post that are published by that company (Schinkten, 2018). The more companies and organization you follow the more useful information is brought to you.

Because you will use LinkedIn everyday, it is important to take care of your digital footprint, this is because organizations look at your footprint, this will then be the deciding factor for a future job opportunity (Schinkten, 2018). Therefore, it is important to not put any information online that can harm you in the future. Certain tips to avoid negative digital footprint include, avoiding references to drugs and alcohol, bad-mouthing others, discriminatory behaviour and poor communication skills (Schinkten, 2018).

LinkedIn Learning is another useful tool to use. This platform provides you with resources such as videos that talk about important topics (Schinkten, 2018). These videos help you to know useful tips for the real world. This tool will help you gain skills that many organizations need you to require today.

Job Search and Company Research

LinkedIn is a very useful tool in which you can search for potential jobs. One way to search for jobs is by looking at company pages on LinkedIn and then look at the jobs listed on the page (Schinkten, 2018). By searching this way, you can learn about all the requirements and see if there is a job that pertains to your field of interest.

Another way to find jobs is by using the jobs tab on the LinkedIn page. Here you can specify which job you are looking for and in which area, you can also see and pick when the job was posted (Schinkten, 2018). By using this feature, you can really narrow down the type of career job you are looking for, for example, you may only want to find entry-level jobs.

Manage Your LinkedIn Account

You can customize your LinkedIn account even more; you can do this by going over your settings and privacy. Here you can go over your account, privacy and communication (Schinkten, 2018). In the account section, you can update or add emails, phone numbers and even change your language settings (Schinkten, 2018). In the privacy section you pick whether to keep your profile public or private, you can even hide specific sections (Schinkten, 2018). At the communication section, you can specify who can send you emails, and even choose the types of emails (Schinkten, 2018).

In your setting, you can also download all your data from LinkedIn (Schinkten, 2018). It is useful to do, this because if you download the data you can back it up and store it for future use.

Conclusion

Today went over why LinkedIn is useful, and how everyone should create an account. We talk about creating a LinkedIn profile, building your network, using LinkedIn day-to-day, job search and company research, and managing your LinkedIn account. Below you can see an example of my personal LinkedIn account. You will see before and after pictures of my account and what I did to improve it.

You can see all the improvements I made in the three pictures below, labelled under after. These improvements include adding a profile picture, and my current education. I also added all the licences I received from LinkedIn Learning. Furthermore, I included my volunteer experience and all my skills. As you see, it is important to always update your profile, and add all the new accomplishments. At the end, the more time you put in on your LinkedIn account, the more job opportunities you will receive.

How to Create an Amazing Facebook Ad!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today we will be discussing advertising on Facebook. Within this blog you will see an overview of Facebook advertising, how Facebook ads work, how to create Facebook ads, viewing your advertising data, implementing best practices, and a conclusion.

An Overview of Facebook Advertising

Facebook ads have become more common each day, and I bet many individuals see at least 1 or 2 Facebook ads each day. This shows how much companies are depending on Facebook ad and why they are important. Because of Facebook huge platform and enormous amount of followers around the world, this becomes a social media platform that every huge company wants to use.

It is important to set an objective, this is because you will then have a goal in which you want to achieve (Adams, 2019). An example would be to create greater awareness of the specific company and to make people come to your website.

Megan Adams (2019) in her video shows all the different targeting options and why they are important. Examples include:

  • Location
  • Demographic
  • Interest (this would be all of the same hobbies or pages your target market has in common)
  • Behaviours

All these targeting options are great to have in mind, because they will allow you to create an ad that targets the right people. This will also increase the amount of people who will be more likely to click on your ad.

How Facebook Ads Work

Facebook uses a specific ad structure, this structure is how Facebook organizes your ads (Adams, 2019). The structure includes three levels, first is campaign, second is ad sets, and the third and final is ads (Adams, 2019).

The campaign is the first level in the structure, this is the objective of the whole specific ad, for example it could be to show off how amazing our new product is and all its benefits (Adams, 2019). After the campaign comes the ad sets. The ad sets are where you select who you are targeting, the ad placement and the bid setting (Adams, 2019). You can create multiple ad sets, each one with a different target and goal. After you create your different ad sets you can then go into the final level the ads. In this level you will create ads for each specific ad set you include (Adams, 2019).

How to Create Facebook Ads

Now we will discuss how a Facebook ad is created. First you will need to identify your primary audience (Adams, 2019). As I mentioned earlier it is important to choose your audience wisely because it will increase the amount of interaction with the ad. For example, if you are advertising a new cellphone you will target an audience that are interested in that specific devise, you can target individuals that follow you company’s own Facebook page.

To make sure you have the correct audience in mind it would be extremely helpful to use the targeting option mentioned earlier. For example, you can target people who have the same interests and behaviours you specified when creating your ad. They can have an interest in technology for example. Or they could have liked your page in the past or would have shared a post as well.

After you choose your audience then you should start to budget your ad. This is where you choose how much you will pay for your ad. If the company is new and small you, then the company should have a small budget and the opposite is true as well (Adams, 2019). Keep in mind if you choose a very small budget such as $5 you will not be able to see your ad being posted multiple times (Adams, 2019). It is important to allow your audience to see your ad multiple times, this will allow them to remember what your ad is about and its importance. It is preferred your ad seen between 3 to 5 times per person.

After you specify your budget then you can choose your ad placement. This is where you place your ad in Facebook. You can choose which type of devise you wish to advertise on, for example you can choose website, cell phone app or even the Facebook Messenger app (Adams, 2019).

View Your Advertising Data

After you created your ad you can see specific data about your ad. For example, you can see how your ad is doing and how much people are seeing it (Adams, 2019). You can see who is looking at the ad, the gender and age. Megan Adams (2019) describes that you can look at the time in which my ad was shown, and the different locations it was distributed to. We can also observe the amount of people who interacted with the ad and that went to the website for example. After you analyzed your data you can update your ads for the future. For example, you can now place your ads at the best times and at the best placement within Facebook. You can also look at the best location where the ad is performing the best and then place it there. For example, the ad could be performing better in Canada than the USA, so then you focus more on Canada.

Implement Best Practices

Now we can go over some practices that will improve the effective your ad has on people. During the video Megan Adams (2019) explains some important tips to write a great ad. First you need a call to action. A call to action is what you want your specific audience to do, it could be to click on your ad, it could be to buy your product, or it could even be to share the post with your friends. The second tip is to use a simple but eye-catching picture (Adams, 2019).  The image should be relevant and should speak to your audience. A great picture can drag your target audience in and let them engage. I personally always engage with an ad that catches my eye with a great picture or video. Another tip from Megan Adams (2019) is to have someone else review your ad before posting it. This allows you to see a different perspective and will allow you to identify a problem that you didn’t know need fixing.

Conclusion

In conclusion, today we looked over why Facebook advertising is important and how we can create a great ad. We discussed the overview of Facebook advertising, how Facebook ads work, how to create Facebook ads, viewing your advertising data, and implementing best practices. Bellow you can see a real-world example of a great ad on Facebook. The ad below is about creating awareness for the new type of editing from Adobe, which is called Adobe Stock. I believe this ad is an excellent example because it checks off many boxes. Such as it includes an enticing picture that drags the audience in. The ad also includes a call to action which is go to their website to learn more. The ad also does not include too much text and get straight to the point. At the end you can see why I choose to talk about this ad. This ad uses many of the tips and guidelines we talked about today, and that is why it is an effective piece of advertisement.

How to write a perfect copy!!!!

Hello everyone, today I am writing to talk about marketing copy. During this piece of text, I am going to explain marketing copy, rewriting existing copy, and finally ending it with a conclusion.

Overview of Marketing Copy

First or all we need to know what marketing copy is, and what it is used for. Marketing copywriting is when an individual writes copy for the purpose of advertising or marketing (Lurie, 2014). When you are about to write marketing copy you must make sure that you are writing towards an audience that will actually be interested in your product or service. This will make it more persuasive and will add more value (Lurie, 2014).

To create an excellent piece of copywriting you will need the following, first as a previously stated you will need to deliver value when it is needed and to the right audience (Lurie, 2014). Secondly you will need to a strategy, this is important because you need to know to plan what you are writing (Lurie, 2014). Thirdly you need your copy to sell, this means you will have an outcome and you what to reach that outcome, for example you may want your customers to buy a specific product (Lurie, 2014). Lastly you will need a call to action, this is when you tell your customers your main objective, such as calling this number to buy this product, or to go online to learn more about this charity (Lurie, 2014).

Writing Copy

When you are about to start writing your copy you should have all your tools with you, for example a glass of water and a snack, and your storage medium such as a notebook or a laptop (Lurie, 2014). Another important tool is to have a backup, this is if you lose your piece of text you will be able to find it, you can use google docs, it saves your information every few minutes (Lurie, 2014). You should also have a comfortable and peaceful place in which your able to write with ease. Also do not forget to create a plan before you start your marketing copy, you can do this by taking 30 minutes before you write, to think about what your are doing, this will help tremendously (Lurie, 2014).

After you have finished the above you can start writing you first draft. Some tips for your first ruff draft include, not writhing your introduction first, this will help you get your thoughts in order (Lurie, 2014). Another tip is not to get to hung up on grammar, selling or word choice at first, it is more important to get all your thought down first (Lurie, 2014). Also do not forget to keep your goal in mind, always remember why you started tow write this piece of copywriting (Lurie, 2014).

Next you can start to polish your draft, you can accomplish this by getting some help, this means to find another person to go over your copy and to edit it, this is helpful because that person will have a different way of thinking (Lurie, 2014). You will also then need to proofread it, to check for grammar and spelling, and you will need to edit it as well to see how everything is flowing (Lurie, 2014). Another task you need to complete is to use active voice and to not use two words in a sentence, where one can do just fine (Lurie, 2014).

Rewriting Existing Copy

Sometimes may have to rewrite an existing copy, this does not mean to completely rewrite the existing copy (Lurie, 2014). The key to a good rewrite is to improve the copy without restructuring it, this means you look for place in which you can improve the text (Lurie, 2014). You can then start to edit the copy, you can use tasks that I mentioned above such as reading for unnecessary words, this means to shorten the long and useless sentences in the copy (Lurie, 2014). You also edit the existing copy to active voice and then proofread the copy as well (Lurie, 2014).

Conclusion

In this piece of text, you can see that I illustrated what marketing copy is, and the importance and use of it. I included an overview of marketing copy, writing copy and rewriting existing copy. An example of how copy can be used in the real world includes, writing copy for the electronic store, The Source. For example, each weak The Source can publish a marketing copy that illustrates the details and benefits of all the new and hot gadgets. They can target all the customers, this way they are not advertising to people who are not interested. This will add value and allow the customers to be interested in what you have to say. For example I love to get to know about what new pieces of technology are being placed out each day. Finally, they can include a call of action which would be to come to the store or to go online to their website to get to know about the new technology and to buy them as well. In the end, you can see the importance of marketing copy, and if done the write way, it can not only benefit the companies but the general public as well.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
